Every week we get together for some serious fun. Most teens in our group will tell you that you never know what to expect with me!!!!!

In March we made a trip down to Snow Mountain Ranch in Winter Park Colorado.  We had an amazing time.  Here are a few pics.

Why “Revolution Youth”?

Some people may wonder why we call ourselves “Revolution Youth.”  Most of the time when we think of the word “revolution” we think of revolting against something.   Our forefathers revolted against England because they wanted the right to worship God the way they wanted.  One of the definitions for the word Revolution is “a sudden, radical, or complete change.”  This is what “Revolution Youth” is all about.  It is about the change that Jesus makes in our lives when we make him our savior.  When we get ourselves out of the way and let Jesus come into our lives.  That is radical.  It takes radical teens to stand for Jesus in their schools.  It takes radical teens to make a decision that no matter what the cost they will serve and follow Jesus.  It is my goal to train and equip radical teens to effect and turn this city around for Jesus.  We are not revolting against our parents, teachers or those in authority.  We are revolting against sin.  We at “Revolution Youth” have decided that we will not conform to this world any longer but we will be transformed by changing the way we think.  Before Jesus we used to live only for ourselves.  Now we live for Him.  Before Jesus we used to be ruled by sin and the desires of our flesh.  Now we are led by Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  God wants to start a revolution in the teens of Cheyenne.  He is looking for a group of teens that will serve him with everything they are.  Revolution Youth exist to train the teens of Cheyenne to live full and victories lives in Jesus.  Come join us and be a Revolution.  Be Blessed!

LOOKING FOR LOVE IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES?

zxzx

As I was driving youth home in the van this week we got into a discussion about love. A young teen girl asked “how do you know you are really in love. I sat there for a moment and pondered my answer and I recalled a teaching that I had done last Valentines Day called “Looking For Love In All The Right Places.” You see God has a love plan for your lives. God is the ultimate example of what it means to love. John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whosoever believes in him would not perish but have eternal life. So love is an action, love always considers the other person about ourselves. In my 14 years of working with youth it seems to me that teens are trying to find love younger and younger. As I said before God has a love plan for our lives. But just like the plan of salvation that he has placed before us there are things we must do. Everything in life starts with God. The first step is found in Matthew 6:33, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Before we try to find love we must have our lives in priority, God must be first. The second step is when you are old enough to date, do not date unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 tells us “ 14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?” Those who are unbelievers do not have their minds controlled by God, and they will try to take you off of the course that God has for your life. They will try to get you to compromise. Which leads me to the next step which is “Keep yourself out of compromising positions.” In 1 Thessalonians 5:22-23 the Bible tells us “ 22 Stay away from every kind of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. True love will never ask you to compromise. Be careful where you go and who you are alone with. Which brings me to my to the last step which is prayer. Every teen should be praying to God for that special person that He has chosen for them. His ways are better than our ways, and he knows what is best for us. Philippians 4:6 tells us “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” God has an amazing plan for your life. He has set a path for your life and love is part of his plan. But don’t get anxious. Remember God know best and if we seek him first he will direct our path. So don’t get anxious to find love. Trust God to bring that special person into your life at the right time. Until then serve God with everything you are and keep him first. Peace out!

From 29 June till 01 July we were blessed to attend the Bridge 07 youth Camp. The camp was amazing and our teens were truly touched by the power and love of Jesus. Here are a few photos of our trip.

WHAT IF GOD WAS NOT SO FAR?

Have you ever felt like God was far away? Sometimes we can feel this way. It can feel like there is a huge gap between you and God. Many things can lead to this feeling. Maybe your parents are splitting up, or maybe you have lost one of them. Maybe you feel that no one loves you and everything in your world is falling apart. In these times I am reminded of this poem called Footprints in the Sand.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it: "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The LORD replied: "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

God had promised to never leave us nor forsake us. Even though sometimes we can feel like we are all alone and God is so far away. Remember at those times he is caring you. PEACE OUT!
